Trip to Kolar:

Kolar district is famous for its Gold mines (closed now) and is around 90 kms far from bangalore.
Since May 1st was a public holiday, I decided to visit this place with my family.
The place which I included in my one day trip:
> Antargange
> Koti Lingeshwara Temple
> Other Small Temples

Booked Cab for one day. Luckily the day was not too sunny. Climate was cloudy.
As planned Left home at 8:00 AM
By 9:00AM reached Kolar. The road was classic with no traffic (NH-4).
Had break fast near Kolar Bus Stand, in small Sagar, since it was very difficult to find Good Hotels.

After breakfast, started our jouney towards AntarGange Hills, which is a nice trekking place.
It was around 4 kms from kolar bus stand. So with in 10 mins we were able to reach Antargange Hills.

AntarGange Hills:
One of the view of Hills :

Its very nice place for trekking. After reaching hill top, we can find ganga water flowing, but the steam
is very very small. There are two options to reach the hill top.
First method is to reach hill top via steps :

Second method is to reach hill top via Treakking path.:

Since I got family with me I took steps. It was fun to reach the hill top. But I missed the other way :-(

Just to bring a point to the visitors notice, that lot of monkeys are there. They were trying to snatch the packets/bags carried by visitors thinking that they will get something to eat., So its better not to carry any bags in hand. Especially with food items.
One Snap with my monkey Friends, when they were busy in there own activities :-)

It took almost 2 hours to reach hill top and come down.

Koti Lingeshwara Temple:
We headed towards Koti Lingeshwar Temple at around 1:00 PM. It is in small village called Kammasandra. The temple is around 6km from kolar Gold Fields. Reached temple via State Highway. It took half an hour to reach there.
Its very nice place. Just Shiv Ling every where. Got to know that there are around 90 lakhs Shiv Lings in the vicinity. Hence the name. For those who dont know kannada, Koti means 1 Crore.
There is one big shiv Ling at the centre of temple surrounded by lot of small Lingas.

And also Big Nandi
Since there was some Yagna going on in temple, lunch was arranged for visitors in the temple. Food was too good.

Someshwara Temple:

After KotiLingeshwar Temple, we headed towards Bangaru Tirupati Temple, which is in Guttahalli.
The distance between these two places is around 10 kms and it took around 20 mins to reach Bangaru Tirupati. It is a Small Temple where Lord Venkateshwara darshan need to be done from small window, kind of kanakana kindi in udupi. Nice experience to get darshan of Lord Venkateshwara on hillock which is at around 40 meters high.
At the entry there is water source for the pilgrims who would like to take sacred dip or for children who would like to have fun in water.

Returned Back after darshan

After darshan visited small temple like Someshwar temple and started return journey at 5:00PM.
By the time we reached Home, it was 7:00PM .

Finally I would like to say not to miss AntarGange and KotiLingeshwar Temple in Kolar.
This was my experience . Hope the information is usefull to others who would like to visit Kolar.
